Surrenden Pens was formed in 2002 by David Shepherd, an avid 51 collector.

Based in Brighton, Sussex, UK and a few miles from the Parker Pen Company in Newhaven, David with his son and wife collaborated on the first published history of the Parker 51 in 2004.
